The Sony Rolly mini robot is a dancing robot, capable of rolling around to any one of the songs you load into it. We expect it to be a big hit with children this year. A G-force sensor can determine if a player is moving up or down, and each robot can be pre-programmed with various movements along with music, storing these on its 2GB flash memory drive via Bluetooth. The robot will flap its wings and change colors during songs as well.

The 2GB of memory will allow for the storing of approximately 520 four minute songs in 128kbps MP3 format. It can also handle DRM fre AAC formats. The “Rolly” will provide up to five hours of music playback on a single charge, or four hours of music and dancing together. The Bluetooth technology in the robot will even allow you to stream music from your mobile phone or any Bluetooth capable computer.

Timex is celebrating its 150th Anniversary by creating the Timex2154: THE fUTURE OF TIME global design competition, run in conjunction with Core77. The new TX54 was a runner-up at the event, being a disposable timepiece that is worn on the user’s thumbnail, making it a rather useful fashion accessory.

The translucent design of the body allows the TX54 to blend in with your nail, and there are several different text color options for the model. The functional and minimalist approach to the design lends to the futuristic fashion and utility demonstrated by the people at Timex in their latest creation.

Gorenje, the Slovenian domestic appliance brand, has recently revealed its newly developed fridge-freezer, which comes complete with a built-in iPod docking station and speakers to provide you with all of your favourite tunes in the kitchen.

First shown at the IFA 2008 consumer electronics fair in Britain, you can listen to music (and sing along, if you like) while cooking in the kitchen. You can also browse online for recipes and online cooking videos to sharpen up on your culinary skills.
