ntt docomo eye controlled headphones

Researchers at NTT DoCoMo have developed a set of prototype in-ear headphones that can detect and measures changes in the body’s electrical state that take place when your eyes move, and have harnessed this technology to control the MP3 player on a mobile phone.

Developed in NTT for the last three years, the eye-control technology relies on special electrodes that measure electrical changes in the body caused by eye movements. These changes can be used to determine the direction that the eyes are looking. The headset was demonstrated at the Ceatec exhibition in Chiba. Before testing this remarkable technology on yourself, you have to inform the device that you are going to use it.
