The Garmin Zumo 550 is an upcoming new release on the GPS market specifically catering to the needs of motorcycle riders. Scheduled for release in October, the Zumo strikes a balance between the larger StreetPilot ôcö series and the smaller Nuvi series. Featuring a waterproof casing and large buttons to make it easy for riders wearing gloves to use, the Garmin Zumo 550 certainly does seem well-suited to the motorcycle community.

Bluetooth connectivity has also been incorporated to the Garmin Zumo 550, allowing you to answer mobile telephone calls using any Bluetooth enabled helmet. Certain motorcycles have the ability to issue fuel alerts, and the Zumo can calculate fuel range and notify the rider when the motorcycle is beginning to run low on gas. Rest assured, the Zumo can also direct you to the nearest gas station whenever you need it.
With the Garmin Zumo tracklog feature, you can upload where youĺve been to your computer and retrace your journey using maps from the Motion Based service or Google Earth. To help make those long journeys a little more tolerable, the Zumo can also be loaded with a memory card containing MP3s, allowing you to listen to music via your helmet.
